Summary: |
In his MS thesis research, he worked for analysis of person identification from both handwriting and signature, and explored a relatively new type of neuron called Spatio-Temporal Artificial neuron (STAN). These neurons had proven to show promising results for systems, where the timing information of the signal was as relevant as its amplitude (or spatial information). Thus, they can easily be used to classify the spatial temporal patterns.
During his BS and MS studies he was working in Neurodyne Medical Corp (www.neumed.com) as a software engineer. He spent two years in Neumed, where he developed the software for medical instruments. These instruments read the neuro-muscular movements of the human body and analyzed them. In particular, he worked with photoelectric Photoelectric Plethysmograph (PPG) and EMG singals. After successfully defending his MS thesis, he joined GIK Institute from 1st June 2004.
He had participated in many national programming and software competitions, as the representative of NUCES-FAST Lahore, like softec, procom and softcom during his under-graduate studies. He also won the 1st prize SoftCom Nov-2001 for speed programming competition.
