We are pleased to announce that GIKI is holding the 5th National Design, Build and Fly Competition (DBFC-V) in 2010; after the success of four National Design, Build and Fly Competitions which were held in GIKI in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. DBFC is a nationwide competition, organized by the GIKI Student Chapter of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), in collaboration with STEM Careers Programme.
AIAA GIKI Chapter and GIK Institute through the STEM Careers Programme and HEC invite undergraduate students to participate in the 5th National Design, Build & Fly Competition. The competition will provide a real world aircraft design experience for engineering students by giving them the opportunity to validate their analytic studies.
Student teams will design, fabricate, and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned electric/engine powered, radio controlled aircraft that can best meet the specified mission profile. The goal is to make a balanced design that possesses good flight handling qualities and must be practical and affordable.
