A three day GIK-SDSU International Conference on Next Generation Energy Technologies (ICONGET2016) and a workshop on Solar Cell Characterization Technology was held at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on from 1-3 April. The conference was held under the Pak-US project entitled "New Approaches for Lower Cost, Longer stability, and Higher Efficiency of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs)" and was awarded to Prof Dr. Muhammad Hassan Sayyad, GIK Institute and Prof Dr. Qiquan Qiao, South Dakota State University.
Over 200 partakers were there at the conference which includes 50 PhDs from all over the country, around 120 MS/M.Phil scholars including male and female both and some undergraduate students as well. Dr. Fakhra Aziz of University of Malaya also took part in the conference. The participants said that the conference had a very productive influence in terms of shaping new ideas of both researchers and academia.
Foreign scholars who joined the conference online through Skype were: Prof. Dr. Qiquan Qiao, Dr. Ashim Gurung and Nirmal Adhikari of South Dakota State Unversity (SDSU), and Talib Hussain of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
