Course Summary

With the development of technology and science, measurement techniques have reached a level where human mistakes and limitations have been comparatively insignificant now. For selecting a measuring instrument three attributes are important; ease of measuring and acquiring data, lesser time consumed and a high level of confidence in results. This two-day session will be a chance to understand the basis of measuring instruments followed by their evolution to the current Computer Interface Data acquisition system. It will have interactive lectures with a blend of deep in knowledge but easily understandable step by step practical workshops equally suitable for academia, research or industry. The course is also designed in a way to make it fruitful for various hierarchy levels. So, whether you are a student or a senior teacher, you are a trainee engineer or a high level Manager you will have ingredients to match your taste. Instrumentation and Data acquisition for physical quantities like Displacement, Velocity, Acceleration, Temperature, Force, and Pressure will be addressed along with adding a flavor of complex measurement situations like vibration and stress analysis. At the end of the course participants will be able to measure data with common as well as specialized instruments along with sufficient understanding of their underlying principles and they will also be able manipulate that data by using computer interface for making inferences.
