So, what did the six months of hard work and sweat actually reap? :)
Categorizing our achievements as per the Webteam divisions, the following are the accomplishments of Project ReVamp:

• Team, Hardware:
  • Website now hosted on a powerful and high-performance Quad Core server machine
  • RAID configurations on system to ensure automatic, multiplicative data backups, thereby also ensuring minimal website downtime
  • A freshly deployed FTP-based content management system (CMS) for secure, distributed access to defined users for web-page creation, editing etc
• Team, Design:
  • A newly-designed and fresh navigational structure for easier reference to information
  • Well-defined Information Portal, Prospective Students and Current Students sections on the main page for quick navigation
  • Independent faculty sub-sites
  • Introducing the GIKI FavIcon (the small website icon in your browser address bar)
  • Elegant and sleek aesthetic design
• Team, Development:
  • Dynamic, independent, easy and secure content management- Faculty Instructors, Faculty Courses, Events, Announcements etc
  • Online Student Academic Profiling; view your academic transcripts online as well as rankings of top ten students in every faculty of every batch along with detailed academic statistics.
  • RSS feeds for the News, Announcements & Upcoming Events sections; get updated website notifications automatically in your RSS Reader/Mailbox
  • New tech. bites- Printer Friendly Paging & Email to a Friend features.
  • Dynamic bread-crumbs for knowing where you are (E.g. Home>Academics>FCSE)
  • Introducing CAPTCHA (a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether the user is human) to prevent attack-scripts and database flooding
  • Google Custom Search feature
• Team, Multimedia:
• Newly designed flash navigational header- highly dynamic and performance optimized
• Virtual GIKI- a 3D model of the GIKI campus
• GIKI Satellite Map- a satellite map of the GIKI campus
• Team, Photography:
  • Forty new selected high quality pictures focusing on:
    • Outside-the-campus domain
    • On-spot ‘Nature’ shots
    • On-campus crowd & activity coverage
  • A new GIKI Picture gallery
