Fresh students inducted in GIK Institute

Zafar Mahmood, Chairman Wapda joined us in the fresh students’ induction ceremony Chief Guest at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology. Shakil Durrani, Executive Director, Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Pakistan (SOPREST), Salim Saifullah Khan, member of Board of Governors, Pro-Rector (Admin and Finance), Ahsan Basir Sheikh and parents of the fresh students also graced the ceremony with their presence.

Advising the fresh students, Wapda Chairman said that once you have determined your strengths and fixed your goal, you will have to make untiring and ceaseless efforts to achieve them. “It may sound a very gigantic task but I assure you, it is achievable“, he said. “Hard work is the only key you have to your future. May the doors of brilliant success and great achievement be open to you. Only first–rate engineers can accept the formidable challenges facing by the country.”

Engr. Shams ul Mulk, president SOPREST said that it is our responsibility to equip our young generation to act as the forerunner of change in the country.  Jehangir Bashar, Rector GIK Institute addressed the cermeony that great emphasize on discipline and proper conduct is laid. He said, “We give you the freedom, and space, and opportunity, to do your own study but we shall come down very hard in case you fail to conduct yourselves in a manner expected of a student of GIK Institute.”

Prof, Dr Javed A. Chattha, Pro-Rector (Academic) said that applications were received from all over the country for the admission in different engineering disciplines but it is given to those students only who qualified for the best.
