GIK Computing faculty and students team up with PAF

A team of GIK Computing faculty and students lead by Dr. Sajid Anwar and Dr. Muhammad Hanif visited the PAF Badabher base. This visit was part of the GIK collaboration with the industry to provide its BS (Computer Science) and BS (Computer Engineering) students flavor of the complex engineering problems during their undergraduate degree programs. 

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Unit Head Group. Capt. Kausar Yousafzai and Flying Officer Ammar Murtaza. Both sides formally discussed new avenues for research collaboration, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and autonomous robots. A short presentation was made by Dr. Hanif and the students to discuss different projects. The delegation visited various research labs and were briefed about the R&D facilities at the PAF base.

Based on the outstanding quality of degree programs offered at GIK, the PAF agreed to formally invite GIK students for summer internships. The PAF showed keen interest in hiring recent GIK graduates having expertise in AI, programming UAVs, and electronics.
