Team Foxtrot All Set for IMechE UAS Challenge 2019

Team Foxtrot from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, Pakistan, is a part of IMechE GIK Chapter and was founded in September 2018 by a group of bright and talented students who won the Design Build Fly Competition 2018, conducted by Higher Education Commission. The team is managed solely by students, overlooking the aspects of manufacturing and design, as well as media engagement and management.

On 16th June 2019, Team Foxtrot shall be participating in the IMechE UAS Challenge, which will be held in Llanbedr, Wales. This will be for the first time that a team from GIKI will be participating in this competition. IMechE UAS Challenge is a unique competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and fly an autonomous aircraft, which can drop off humanitarian aid packages to certain marked zones in the airfield. The challenge itself will present a hypothetical situation where the team has to drop payloads with precision to those areas that are inaccessible, owing to any infrastructure hindrance or natural disaster. Its focus is simple; to inspire the young minds to push the boundaries of design innovation and aircraft automation to a greater level.

Wishing the Best of Luck to Team Foxtrot!
