A team from the GIK Institute's Facult of Engineering Sciences has reached the semifinals of the Siemens Student Award Middle East contest 2013 .Team mentor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hassan Sayyad and team leader Sana Khan submitted their idea entitled “Self-Sustainable Opto-Organo-Chemical Sensors” which was shortlisted for the final competition. It may be noted that the contest was open to all BS, MS and PhD students currently studying in a College or University in the Middle East including United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Syria and Afghanistan.
