GIK Institute celebrates Independence Day with traditional fervor

Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology celebrated Pakistan’s 72nd Independence Day with traditional fervor on August 14 and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir in light of India’s move to annex occupied Kashmir.

A symbolic flag-hoisting ceremony was held in front of the AHA Auditorium to which Prof. Dr Jameel-Un Nabi, Pro-Rector (Academics) was invited as the Chief Guest. GIK faculty, staff and students attended the gathering and children from the GIK College sang the national anthem.

The gathering paid tributes to national heroes and founding fathers and prayed for Kashmiris facing the worst of atrocities. Participants showed support for the cause of Kashmir and strongly condemned the Indian aggression.

They renewed the pledge to play their due role in the progress and prosperity of the country and make it a strong welfare state as envisioned by founding father,  Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

 Engr. Jehangir Bashar, Rector GIK Institute and Sardar  Aminullah Khan, Pro-Rector (Administration and Finance), in their message recalled that freedom is  a great blessing of God and a gift from our founding fathers who rendered countless sacrifices to establish Pakistan.
