Engineering (Civil/Elec) from HEC recognized institution with valid PEC registration. Additional courses & certifications relevant to the post will be an added advantage. EXPERIENCE: Eight (08) years hands on experience of work with thorough knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems; knowledge of facility and construction, safety standards & basic knowledge of public purchasing and contracts. AGE: Max 35 Years   Duties Will report to Director (Project & Works) & in his absence to Deputy Director (Works) on all matters related to Projects & Works of GIK Institute. He will assist DD (Works) in: Efficient execution of all new works, maintenance, repair and misc activities in order of all building works, Electrical/ Mechanical installations, tools, plants, etc. Efficient running of installations, HVAC Plants, Workshops, Sewerage Treatment Plant & Water Supply arrangements.  The execution of all original works and the maintenance of all buildings, furniture, machinery & operation and maintenance of Electrical Distribution System & CATV. Proper and economic expenditure of the funds complying with the prescribed procedure in connection with the maintenance of buildings & assets of GIK Institute Prepare specification, bills of quantities and other contracts documents and maintenance of construction accounts. Prepare all measurements for works, services and rates of payment, make checks of measurements and examine a percentage of contractor’s bills technically before payment.   Supervise the actual execution of all works in accordance with sanctioned estimates, specifications and Drawings & record measurements of the works.  Carry out periodical check of the buildings & installations and keep them in a proper state of repairs by timely action and wise utilization of funds, with the sanction of competent authority. Prepare petty requisitions and plans and estimates for special repairs and additions and alterations of works/ schemes To supervise the actual execution of Water Supply Schemes, Sewerage Schemes, Projects works and other affairs & repairs done through the contractors or by daily labour and to see that they are executed in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the competent authority for the said work with sound materials.  Maintain the Register of progress and instructions on all works and make arrangement for adequate strength of labour at economical rates within the sanctioned rates when a work is required to be done departmentally. JOB OPPORTUNITIES   Applications are invited for the following posts in the GIK Institute Campus.  Requisite qualifications and experience are as under:   Director (Procurement):   Master’s Degree in Business Administration  preferably in Supply Chain Management and Finance from a recognized University with 12 years’ experience in procurement (local purchase & imports) in a government or semi government or autonomous or a reputed private organization. Should have good working knowledge of computer and excellent communication skills.   Senior Medical Officer:  MBBS (House job at least six months in medicine and six months in Surgery). Must be registered with PMDC Islamabad. Candidates having experience will be given preference.   Deputy Director (Admissions & Exams.): B.Sc (Engg.) or M.Sc. or M.A. in Social or Administrative Sciences from a recognized university with 5 years post qualification experience of admissions, examinations in an academic institution of repute. Must have knowledge of semester system exams. Credit hours system (grades, grade points average), examination schedule/date sheet and learning Management System.  Good communication and computer skills are essential.   Executive Secretary to Rector:  Graduate, preferably with a Master’s Degree, from a recognized   University with at least 10 years post qualification experience in administrative and secretarial work in a government or reputed private organization. The incumbent must have excellent written, spoken communication, and IT skills. Must be able to set priorities and handle multitasking.  Shorthand and typing speed of 80 and 40 WPM respectively shall be preferred.   Private Secretary: Graduate preferably Master’s degree holder from a recognized university with seven (07) years’ experience of office management in a reputed organization. Shorthand and typing speed of 80 and 40 WPM respectively shall be preferred. Knowledge of word processing is essential.   Lab. Technician (Mechanical):  1st class DAE in Mechanical Engineering from a Board of Technical Education with 3 years’ post diploma relevant experience in a scientific organization of repute. Technician (Electronics): 1st class DAE in Electronic Engineering from a Board of Technical Education with 3 years’ post diploma relevant experience in a scientific organization of repute. Technician (Computer Science): Minimum 1st class DAE in Computer Science or relevant field from a Board of Technical Education with 3 years’ post diploma or equivalent/higher degree in Software/hardware, preferably experience in a scientific organization of repute. Candidate should ideally be able to understand and repair OS/hardware including peripherals.   Machinist (Mechanical):  DAE from a Board of Technical Education in General Engineering (Machinist) with two years' post diploma experience.                                                                    Lady Security Guard: Retired armed forces personnel preferably from SSG or other groups with matric qualification.
